Discussions have been held regarding efforts to strengthen the Foreign Service of the Maldives.

As part of his ongoing official visit to Dhaka, Bangladesh, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Dr. A.K. Abdul Momen.

The Maldivian state minister was welcomed by the Bangladeshi foreign minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

The meeting saw discussions revolving around the close relations between Maldives and Bangladesh.

The pair also explored avenues to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.

Extensive discussions were held on strengthening the Foreign Service of the Maldives and other new areas of cooperation.

Further, State Minister Khaleel shed light on the values Maldives places in its relations with Bangladesh as a close and historical partner.

Khaleel went on to express his appreciation for the numerous contributions made by Bangladesh to the socio-economic development of Maldives.

The meeting was joined by High Commissioner of Maldives to Bangladesh Shiruzimath Sameer, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Khadeeja Najeeha and First Secretary at the High Commission of Maldives in Bangladesh Ahmed Fazeel.
