Common cold and other common illnesses are being spread more according to Health Protection Agency’s (HPA) statistics.
In the statistics HPA have released reveal that compared to last year people went to the doctor with dengue, common cold, vomiting and diarrhea more this year. The number of people who have got treated for dengue has increased between June and July.
In June 294 people with dengue had been reported whereas there were 322 cases reported in July. As for common cold, there were 21,802 cases reported in June and 27,553 cases in July. For diarrhea there were 2,379 cases treated in June and 3,103 cases in July.
HPA revealed that despite the increase in common diseases, diseases such as chicken pox and pink eye have not increased past the average.
As diseases caused by mosquito increase every year around the rainy season HPA advices getting rid of or cleaning areas in which mosquito can lay eggs.
