Eight individuals have applied for the post of Criminal Court judge.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) opened the application window for the post on July 7.
JSC had publicized the details of the individuals who had forwarded their applications within the deadline.
The details of the applicants are as follows:
- Ummu Kulsoom Aboobakuru, native of Hithaadhoo island in Baa atoll
- Ibrahim Ihsan, native of Maradhoo island in Seenu atoll
- Aminath Azlifa, native of Rasgetheem island in Raa atoll
- Mohamed Ghasir, native of Kanduhulhudhoo island in Gaaf Alif atoll
- Sulaiman Mohamed, native of Kurendhoo island in Lhaviyani atoll
- Rushdulla Ibrahim, native of Maalhos island in Baa atoll
- Amjad Abdul Ghani, native of Bilehdhoo island in Faafu atoll
- Siyama Mohamed, Malé Registry 13194
The post was vacated following the resignation of former judge Dheebanaz Fahmy, who has since joined the High Court of Maldives.
Dheebanaz’s oath of office as a High Court justice, was administered on August 9.
