FAM postpones all tournaments due to H1N1 outbreak

Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has postponed all tournaments indefinitely, over the sudden rise in reported cases of H1N1 virus.

A statement released by FAM says that with HPA declaring a level three alert for the nation and as the virus was spreading across the nation, they had passed to postpone the tournaments organized. As such, FAM said that the inter-school football tournament, ongoing Male’ League and Minivan Championship scheduled for March 15th, have been postponed indefinitely.

FAM added that they will announce a date when the tournaments will be started.

The statement came prior to the scheduled matches of Male’ League for Tuesday evening and night. The pre-match press conference had already been held.
