President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has offered his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late ‘Haivakaru’ Ahmedfulhu.
Ahmedfulhu passed away early Friday while receiving medical treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
He was 89 years of age at the time of his passing.
President Solih expressed his sympathies and offered condolences to the bereaved family shortly after.
The president also praised his exemplary service to the country.
Having begun his service on 8 October 1953, the late Ahmedfulhu spent a majority of his career in the armed forces.
Spanning over 24 years, his service record for the armed forces included senior positions such as the ranks 1 – 4 of ‘Sarudhaaru’.
The late Ahmedfulhu also held the position of Atoll Chief for Mulakatholhu, Faadhippolhu, and Addu Atolls during his long career.
Ahmedfulhu also served as the Atoll Chief of Mulakatholhu for two terms.
Further, he serves as the Assistant Under Secretary and Manager and Assistant Manager of the Rentals Division at the Ministry of Atolls Administration.
In addition to this, he served as the Director and Assistant Director General at the Ministry of Information, Arts and Culture, also having worked as the Manager of the Central Hospital and served as the Director General and Assistant Director General at the Community Organisations Development Council.
With a career having spanned over 53 years, Ahmedfulhu served in various senior positions in the government and armed forces.
