Second Division: Kuda Henveiru inches closer to semi after beating JJ

Kuda Henveiru United has inched closer to the semifinals, after thrashing JJ Sports Club during a game of the ongoing Second Division Football Tournament by Football Association of Maldives (FAM), held on Wednesday.
Kuda Henveiru beat JJ Sports Club in the Group One game 3 – 1.
Kuda Henveiru player Ibrahim Rizuhaan scored the first two goals for the winning team in the first half of the game.
The team’s third goal was an own goal by JJ’s Ismail Aaiz Hameed.
JJ’s only goal was scored by Ahmed Hunaif.
The results of Wednesday’s game have paved way for Kuda Henveiru to snatch the second spot in Group One with 12 points.
In the first spot is Buru Sports Club which has confirmed a spot in the semifinals.
Club PK comes in third with nine points, followed by JJ Sports Club, Tent Sports Club, Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) and Biss Buru Sports Club with six points each.
With no points, Capital City Sports Club remains at the bottom of the division table.
Kuda Henveiru has one remaining game in the group stage, against Biss Buru.
The semifinals will take place on August 12, where Buru will go head-to-head against the team in the second spot of group two.
