The coastal protection project in Hoarafushi Airport of Haa Alif atoll has reached 60 percent progress.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that work on the Hoarafushi Airport shore protection project is well underway.
MTCC revealed that the construction of the breakwater and the reprofiling of the existing groyne has been completed.
Currently ongoing is the construction of the revetment.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to carry out coastal protection and construction of a concrete culvert on the causeway connecting Hoarafushi to the airport.
The project is valued at MVR 90.5 million.
The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC on 26 July 2021.
The project was contracted to be completed within 360 days.
