Vanuatu celebrates its 42nd Independence Day on Saturday

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid has expressed keen interest to increase the joint action between Maldives and the Republic of Vanuatu, in addressing the special vulnerabilities faced by Small Island Developing States.
He said this in a message of felicitations sent to MP, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and External Trade of the Republic of Vanuatu Marc Ati on the occasion of their Independence Day.
In his message, the Maldivian foreign minister extended warm felicitations and best wishes to his Vanuatu counterpart, the government and people of Vanuatu on behalf of the government and people of Maldives.
He also revealed his keen interest to enhance cooperation between Maldives and Vanuatu, particularly by increasing joint action in addressing the special vulnerabilities faced by SIDS.
Before concluding his message, FM Shahid extended his best wishes for his Vanuatu counterpart’s good health and wellbeing.
He also wished for the further progress of the people of Vanuatu.
FM Shahid offered the assurances of his highest considerations.
