Chief Procurement Executive at the Ministry of Finance, Ahmed Mujuthaba has died a sudden death.
Sources report that Mujuthaba died after being brought to the capital Malé City, after suffering from a sudden stomachache while he was in his home island.
He is to have died on Friday morning.
Sources report that tests taken at the hospital confirmed that he had kidney failure.
Mujuthaba was 39 years of age at the time of his passing.
He joined the Ministry of Finance in 2008 and has been known for his leading and active role in improving the state procurement over the past 14 years of his career.
Mujuthaba had also filled several positions at numerous institutions, including a senior role in the tender board as well as a board member at Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).
