The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid has expressed hope that the friendly relations and cooperation between Maldives and Belgium will continue to strengthen.

The Maldivian minister made this remark in a message sent to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium, Hadja Lahbib on the occasion of the country’s National Day.

As such, the foreign minister conveyed sincere felicitations and warm greetings to his Belgium counterpart, the government and the people of the Kingdom of Belgium on the jubilant occasion, on behalf of the people and government of Maldives.

He went on to express “sincere” hope that the friendly ties and cooperation between the two countries would be maintained and further strengthened in the future.

FM Shahid offered assurances of his highest consideration, before concluding his message.
