BML’s Community Fund supports the development of a Barbecue area in Kaashidhoo
Bank of Maldives has announced the successful completion of a Barbecue area in K. Kaashidhoo as part of its Community Fund initiative.
BML's Community Fund initiative is a program which focuses on empowering individuals to contribute to society through sustainable community projects.
BML states that the aim of developing a BBQ area in Kaashidhoo is to create a space to strengthen relations and bring the community together. As such, the area is equipped with Barbecue grills, tables, chairs and benches to allow gettogethers .
Additionally, a ‘fini maizaan’, also knowns as a relaxing area was developed within the BBQ area. The bank highlights that the relaxing area was designed specially for senior citizens.
Island resident Mohamed Visaah proposed the idea to the bank. With the completion of the project, Visaah hiped that the space will be useful for the island community. He expressed hope that the spot would be a favorite among those visiting the island as well .
Visaah expressed his sincere gratitude to Kaashidhoo Club Flyers and those who assisted in completing the project successfully.
Through the Community Fund, the Bank has provided financial assistance for more than 65 projects across the country. Some of the projects that were successfully completed this year include , a Community Eco Park in H.A. Molhadhoo, a special reading and playing area in Faafu Atoll School, a community beach park in L. Gan and installation of solar powered streetlights in B. Kudarikilu island.
