The First Couple is in Maafushi island of Kaafu atoll for Eid-Al-Fitr celebrations.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed travelled to Maafushi island on Monday and were warmly welcomed by the residents of the island.
The First Couple’s trip to Maafushi comes upon the invitation of the Maafushi Island Council.
Maafushi island is one of the islands scheduled to kick off one of the most colorful and grand Eid celebrations this year.
This Eid, the island remains one of the islands that people from all across the country have visited to celebrate the auspicious occasion.
RaajjeMV understands that all of the guesthouses in Maafushi island have been booked for the entire week.
The island kick started Eid celebrations with a mass congregational Eid prayer on Monday morning.
Other activities planned for the occasion include a music show where local ‘Boduberu’ group Habeys Boduberu will be performing, alongside ‘Yaara’ group.
A display of fireworks will also be included in the night’s activities.
