President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has attended the congregational Eid-Al-Fitr prayer.
The President attended the congregational Eid-Al-Fitr prayer at the Islamic Centre on Monday morning.
Following the prayer, the President shook hands and exchanged Eid greetings with the people.
On the auspicious occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the Maldivian President also conveyed well wishes and greetings to all Maldivians, leaders of Islamic countries, heads of Islamic organizations, and the Muslim ummah as a whole.
In a message to mark the occasion of Eid, the President noted that promoting social equality and bringing joy to vulnerable groups is a key spirit of Eid.
As the nation envelops itself with Eid-Al-Fitr celebrations, the President has reminded the people on how Islam emphasizes strengthening social relations and familial ties, establishing social equality, and bringing happiness to the poor, the needy and the underprivileged.
He added that exchanging greetings and gifts would lead to a more joyful and friendly society.
