Promoting social equality and bringing joy to vulnerable groups is a key spirit of Eid, says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The president made this remark in a message to mark the occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr 1443, celebrated on May 2.

In his message, the President extended his warmest greetings and good wishes to his people, on the occasion of Eid .

President Solih also went on to extend greetings to the leaders and people of Islamic countries, all Muslims, and heads of Islamic organizations.

As the nation surrounds itself with Eid-Al-Fitr celebrations, the President has reminded the people on how Islam emphasizes strengthening social relations and familial ties, establishing social equality, and bringing happiness to the poor, the needy and the underprivileged.

Further, President Solih stated that the key to strengthening familial bonds is to spend time with parents, family members and one’s spouse and children.

With this being said, the President urged the people to call on their neighbors and friends this Eid to check up on their wellbeing.

In conclusion the President reiterated the significance attached to improving social bonds, in Islam

He added that exchanging greetings and gifts would lead to a more joyful and friendly society.
