The second phase of the road development project in Dhidhdhoo island of Haa Alif atoll, has been handed over to the Road Development Corporation (RDC).

The project was assigned to the company during a special ceremony held at the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, where the contract was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed and Managing Director of RDC Moosa Ali Manik.

The project, based on design and build policy, will see the tarring of roads in Dhidhdhoo stretching up to 5.4 kilometers.

Further, a water drainage system will also be installed in the island under the scope of the project as well as installing street lights.

The project is valued at MVR 108,530,091.37 million.

RDC is required to complete the project within 540 days.
