A male youth has been left critically injured in a road accident.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the dangerous road accident took place in Hulhumalé Phase II.
The accident occurred when a motorcycle and a car collided in Phase II and the motorcycle skidded out of control and crashed into another car.
A 19-year-old Maldivian man was injured in the collision.
He is currently receiving treatment at the Hulhumalé Hospital.
The police institution cited doctors at the hospital having revealed that the man is in critical condition.
MPS went on to reveal that he was an unlicensed rider.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
