The People’s Majlis has gone into recess after the end of the first session of the year.
According to the statistics released by the People’s Majlis, almost 50 percent of the work had been completed within the first session of 2022.
The first session was from February 3 to April 25.
Although the government had initially decided to propose 36 bills to the first session, it was reduced to 28 of which the works of eight bills have been completed.
Further, out of the 10 resolutions proposed at the parliament chamber, two have been completed and seven out of the eight matters presented by the government and placed on the agenda had been completed.
The chair of the People’s Majlis had also presented eight matters of which five were completed. Out of the 10 issues submitted by parliamentarians, four had been completed by the time the parliament wrapped up the session.
Six reports linked to other cases were also submitted, the work on one of the reports has been completed.
During the first session for 2022, the parliament had proposed 46 questions for Cabinet Ministers, of which answers were attained for 26.
12 emergency motions were submitted in the session.
35 sittings were held during the first session, lasting up to 71 hours and 11 minutes. Members of parliament committees had spent 134 hours and 18 minutes at committee meetings totaling 170.
A total of 131 works were submitted for the entire term of which 65 were completed by the end of session which makes up 49.6 percent of accomplished work.
