The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed 63 percent of the Channel and Maintenance Dredging Project of Baarah island in Haa Alif atoll.
The company revealed this on Sunday morning, stating that the maintenance dredging operations for the harbor basin of the channel and maintenance dredging project are currently underway.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to dredge a channel of 28,101 cubic meters and install navigational lights.
Existing basin maintenance dredging is also included in the scope of the project.
The project was contracted to the company by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 6 April 2021.
The project is valued at MVR 12.17 million and was contracted to be completed within 120 days.
