Maldivian Government condemns the targeted attacks in Saudi

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, published a statement on behalf of the Maldivian Government, condemning the multiple attacks targeting economic installations and civilian infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 20 March 2022.

In the statement published by the Ministry, the Government of Maldives described the attacks as cowardly acts of terrorism. To quote the statement, 'such cowardly acts of terrorism aimed at vital economic infrastructure and innocent civilians, clearly violate international law and threaten the security of the Kingdom and the region'.

Moreover, the government highlighted that these attacks hinder global energy supplies.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the Government of Maldives reaffirms its solidarity with the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against those threatening its security and reiterates its steadfast commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
