Bank of Maldives (BML) has opened a new self-service banking ATM center in Maamendhoo island of Laamu atoll.
In an effort to support the island community and the national bank’s ongoing efforts to expand its services in outlying atolls in support of island communities, BML opened the center in the island on Thursday with which is has scaled up its presence in the atoll.
These centers will support individuals and businesses in depositing and transferring money on a round-the-clock basis, in addition to the general cash withdrawal service.
In addition to a self-service banking ATM center in Maavah island, Laamu atoll currently has a branch and self-service banking in Fonadhoo as well as Gan islands.
CEO and Managing Director Tim Sawyer stated that the newly inaugurated center will benefit individuals and businesses in the community all the while ensuring convenient and accessible banking services without presenting the need to travel to get to the nearest branch.

The country’s national bank is committed to support individuals, businesses and communities across Maldives, with a nationwide network of 35 branches across 20 atolls, 78 self-service banking centers, 136 ATMs, more than 200 agents and a full suite of digital banking services.
