Active Covid-19 cases across Kulhudhuffushi City have exceeded 500, with 68 more cases confirmed in the past 24 hours.
As such, the northern city of Kulhudhuffushi confirmed 68 positive cases and 40 recoveries on Saturday.
Currently, the active cases across the city are 266 persons who consulted the flu clinic with flu symptoms, 219 identified through contact tracing, 24 through random samples and one person who provided samples to travel out of the Maldives.
On Friday, 34 new coronavirus cases were confirmed across the city.
Although the city has been under monitoring for a while, a number of eases were implemented of recent. As such, positive cases were given the green light to quarantine in individual rooms of houses, and authorities have even halted putting up notices outside residence.
Further, Covid-19 patients will not be contacted for contact tracing now, with them being given the responsibility to contact their contacts and inform them on their own.
Contacts also have their own individual responsibility to get tested.
