Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been tasked with a project to relocate the R. Ungoofaaru channel.
The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC during a signing ceremony held at the ministry of Thursday.
The contract was signed by Chief Executive Officer of MTCC Adam Azim and Permanent Secretary at the ministry, Zeeniya Ahmed Hameed.
The signing ceremony was joined by the parliamentarian for Ungoofaaru constituency, MP Mohamed Waheed.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC will be required to dredge 41,980 cubic meters, install an outer quay wall measuring 162 meters and a navigational light.
The project is valued at MVR 18.58 million and MTCC is contracted to complete the project within 210 days.
