The First Couple has concluded their unofficial visit to Sri Lanka.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed departed from Velana International Airport on December 30, ahead of the New Year.
The President’s Office revealed that the First Couple returned to Maldives following the conclusion of their visit, on Sunday evening.
President Solih and the first lady visited Sri Lanka during July 2021 on an unofficial visit as well.
During the trip, the Maldivian president paid a courtesy call on Sri Lanka’s President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo. Official talks were held regarding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic as well as strengthening ties between the two countries.
