The First Couple will conclude their unofficial visit to Sri Lanka on Sunday night.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed departed from Velana International Airport on December 30, ahead of the New Year.
The President’s Office revealed that the First Couple will be returning to Maldives following the conclusion of their visit, on Sunday night.
President Solih and the first lady visited Sri Lanka during July 2021 on an unofficial visit as well.
During the trip, the Maldivian president paid a courtesy call on Sri Lanka’s President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo. Official talks were held regarding the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic as well as strengthening ties between the two countries.
