President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has concluded his brief visit to Maafushi island of Kaafu atoll.
The president departed to the island on Tuesday afternoon and was accompanied by a high-level delegation of government officials and Cabinet Ministers.
The first item on his agenda was to attend a ceremony to hand over the newly reclaimed area and picnic island to the Maafushi Island Council.
He also inaugurated the new football stadium developed on the island as part of the one-day trip.
As part of the trip he also met members of the island council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC).
Solih also visited Maafushi Prison and Maafushi Health Center where meetings were held with the management and staff.
