Vice President Faisal Naseem has urged government offices and state institutions to boost efforts to improve access to public services.
He made this remark during an event held at Hiriyaa School to mark the 10th anniversary of Aasandha Company, the public health insurance scheme on Friday.
As such, he pushed all civil servants to exercise the utmost levels of sincerity and ensure the swift delivery of public services without any discrimination.
Shedding light on the current situation surrounding the global Covid-19 pandemic, VP Naseem acknowledged the challenges caused by the pandemic to healthcare services, especially in traveling abroad for medical needs.
Further, he highlighted the efforts by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his administration to seek ways for patients to travel to India for medical needs, despite travel restrictions and closed borders.
VP Naseem expressed gratitude to the government of India for facilitating the administration’s requests to allow travel of patients under special permits.
Adding that a majority of the population seeks medical treatment under the universal health insurance scheme Aasandha, VP Naseem stated that it is of utmost importance to implement precautionary measures to avoid and reduce the risk of falling ill.
The event saw VP Naseem officially launching the mobile application of the company and presenting the long-service awards to staff who have been providing services since the company was incepted.
The vice president was presented a commemorative plaque as a token of the company’s appreciation.
