Gov't reopens applications for membership at ACC

Membership has been opened at Anti-Corruption Commission
The government has extended the application window for a vacancy at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of the Maldives.
Application opportunity was initially opened by the President’s Office on December 5 and the deadline was set at December 16.
An announcement by the President’s Office on Monday reveals that the application window has been opened once again.
Application forms have been made available at the front desk of the office and may also be downloaded from the President’s Office official website.
The office revealed that the application window will be open from 9:30am to 12:30pm on December 29 and December 30.
Members will be appointed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih after they are approved by the People’s Majlis and shall be qualified as per the Maldives constitution.
As such, members must “possess the educational qualifications, experience and recognized competence necessary to discharge the functions of the commission”. Members of the commission shall not engage in any other employment, reads the constitution.
As an independent and impartial institution, ACC must perform its duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution and any laws enacted by the parliament, and its work mainly revolves around preventing and combating corruption within all activities of the state without “fear” and intimidation.
