President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has directed the Ministry of Tourism and Environment to issue all permits required for government projects and works within three days.
According to a letter signed and dispatched on November 23 by Ahmed Ali Habeeb, Principal Secretary to the President on Cabinet Affairs, the president has instructed that every permit and related task linked to government projects and initiatives under the ministry’s jurisdiction, be completed in line with existing laws and regulations, within a maximum of three working days.
The directive highlights that the Ministry of Tourism and Environment is responsible for issuing a wide range of permits mandated for public safety, security, and environmental protection. These include critical approvals for resort construction, detailed designs for sewerage systems, electricity grids and power-generation systems as well as waste-management systems.
