President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has promised the council of Fenfushi island in Alif Dhaal atoll, that he would address the concerns facing the island community.
The president held a meeting with the members of the island council at the President’s Office on Thursday, where the concerns and needs of the island residents were shared with him.
As such, island councilors noted the need for additional classrooms in the Fenfushi School extension block and the relocation of the health center as well.
They went on to raise concerns linked to the sewerage network, harbor development project and the requirement of a water supply network.
The president promised to hold discussions with the relevant authorities in order to address the concerns facing the island community.
He went on to brief the councilors on the latest development initiatives planned for the island and asserted that his administration does not favor islands and discriminate in providing basic services and development projects, based on the population of the island.
