The First Couple has joined the launching of the Joint Positive Parenting Program (JPPP).

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed joined the function held to launch the JPPP on Wednesday.

The event, held at the Child Development Center (CDC), was joined by parents and officials from the government and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

The JPPP is a joint initiative led by the UNICEF and the Ministry of Education.

The collaboration will run for five years and aims to empower parents with positive parenting skills to support their children’s growth more effectively and help them reach their full potential.

Through the programme, the critical survival and developmental challenges of children as observed in the Situation Analysis of Children and Youth conducted last year, will be addressed.

Further, the programme will also address the 21st century challenges and effects of the Covid-19 pandemic that aggravated existing challenges for parents, children as well as adolescents alike.
