President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has pledged to resolve the issues facing Velidhoo island in Noonu atoll.

A meeting was held at the President's Office on Sunday, where councilors of Velidhoo island shared their concerns and development needs of their community with the president.

MP for Velidhoo Constituency Mohamed Abdulla Shafeeq joined the meeting.

Councilors delivered their community’s concerns regarding additional upgrades to health services in the island, challenges faced due to damage to the harbor, soil erosion, difficulties in leasing land for residential and other purposes, as well as efforts to add classrooms to the school and the work of the football stadium.

Listening to their concerns, the president briefed them on the updates of the developmental initiatives ongoing in the island.

He went on to reaffirm the councilors that the government will put its best efforts to assist in resolving the issues facing the community, in joint collaboration with relevant authorities.
