The new High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Maldives, Abioye Mohammed Bello is committed to strengthen the already cordial relationship between both countries.
This was affirmed by the new Nigerian High Commissioner during a meeting with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih at the President’s Office on Monday, following the ceremony to present his Letter of Credence.
As such, the Nigerian High Commissioner expressed commitment to put in his best efforts to enhance the already cordial relationship between Maldives and Nigeria, during his tenure as High Commissioner.
Welcoming the Nigerian High Commissioner to the Maldives, President Solih congratulated him on his appointment and went on to extend best wishes on behalf of the Maldivian people and government, to the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
Highlighting that the Maldives and Nigeria have enjoyed historical bilateral connections for 40 years, President Solih noted that the Maldivian government is determined to strengthen these bilateral ties, based on common values.
Further, the Maldivian president expressed hope that the relationship between both countries would continue to flourish in the coming years.
