An additional 38 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19, from Addu City.
According to the latest statistics by Addu Emergency Operations Center, Sunday’s infections incudes 16 from Hithadhoo district, 16 from Maradhoo, one in Maradhoo-Feydhoo and five from Feydhoo district.
With this, active cases in Addu City adds up to 225.
Further, 24 recoveries were reported by sundown on Sunday, with four patients receiving in-hospital treatment currently.
158 samples were collected for testing between 6pm Saturday and 6pm Sunday. 250 contacts of the new cases have been identified as well.
A total of 29,275 samples have been collected so far and residents of the southernmost city had been urged to provide samples if they exhibit any symptoms.
The southernmost city’s total coronavirus case count has risen to 2,049.
Last month, five Covid-19 fatalities were reported from Addu Covid Management Facility. The total number of deaths reported in the city sits at nine.
