Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has launched bus services for residents of Hulhumalé Phase II.
The service commenced on Friday.
According to the company, the service was launched for Hulhumalé Phase II residents to resolve the issues they face in transport, after discussions were held with the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Housing Development Corporation and MTCC.
The bus services to residents of ‘Hiyaa’ housing units in the Phase II region will be from 5:45am to 11:45pm every day except for Fridays, when the service will be closed between 11:45am and 1:45pm.
The bus routes linking Hulhumalé Phase II and Phase I have also been amended, as such, they now include the West Park bus route, Carnival route, Velana International Airport (VIA) route and the routes connecting to the ferry service.
MTCC has also announced changes to the ferry schedule.
The company revealed that the price for the bus service will be MVR five.
MTCC aims to provide the service in efficiency, to the residents across the Greater Malé Region so that any transport difficulties facing them can be eased.
