President travels to Dubai for brother's funeral

President expected to return on Wednesday

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed to Dubai, United Arab Emirates to attend his brother’s funeral.

He is to have been accompanied by other close family members.

The president’s younger brother Ahmed Mohamed Solih, 57, passed away while undergoing cancer treatment in the Middle Eastern nation.

While President Solih has 11 siblings, four -including Ahmed- are visually impaired.

The president is expected to conclude the trip and return to Maldives on Wednesday.
