Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem departed on a trip to Meemu Atoll on Saturday to oversee the status of healthcare services across islands of the atoll.
Health Minister Ahmed Naseem was accompanied by MP for Dhiggaru constituency Ikram Hassan, Senior Executive Director at the Ministry of Health Abdul Hannan Hussain and Senior Project Officer Abdulla Ariz on the visit.
The purpose of Minister Naseem's visit to Meemu Atoll is to oversee the status of healthcare services at health centers and regional hospitals of some islands, and to engage in field discussions on how to better improve conditions for workers, and the quality of health services being provided across the atoll.
Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem is set to visit the islands of Dhiggaru, Maduvvari, Muli and Naalaafushi during the trip.
During the trip, Minister Naseem will be overseeing the efforts needed to upgrade the health centers of Dhiggaru and Maduvvari island, and will also be closely observing the construction of a extension building at Mulaku. The extension building will be used as a laundry, stockroom and garage for the administrators providing public health services from a limited office space.
Health Minister Ahmed Naseem will conclude his trip to Meemu Atoll after visiting Naalaafushi and the Muli Regional Hospital.
