No injuries were reported in the fire that broke out in a warehouse in Hulhumalé, early Monday.
The fire broke out inside a warehouse near White Beach Café in the capital Malé City’s suburban extension early Monday.
Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) received reports of the fire at around 2:43am on Monday.
Firefighters were able to quell the fire at around 3:36am.
No injuries were reported in the fire, MNDF confirmed, noting that the engines and other equipment stored in the warehouse were damaged by the fire.
MNDF officials active at the scene had evacuated residents from their houses near the region at the time of the fire. Firefighters had also hosed the warehouse in order to avoid another fire from breaking out.
