An expatriate has been discovered dead in capital Malé City’s suburbs.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the body of a 40-year-old Bangladeshi man was discovered at a construction site in Hulhumalé, they received reports at around 7:31 on Saturday morning.

In a message to media the police institution revealed that they haven’t found any suspicions linked to the death, so far in the investigation.

However, further investigations are underway, confirmed police.

In accordance with the guidelines set forth by relevant authorities in connection to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, samples will be taken from all dead bodies discovered in the country, for Covid-19 testing.

There has been an earlier case where an expatriate discovered dead in the island nation, tested positive for Covid-19.
