Maldives Minister of Defense and National Security, Mariya Ahmed Didi has applauded the “fantastic” work of Maldivian orthopaedic surgeons.

In a Twitter post Mariya expressed pride in the local orthopaedic surgeons at ADK Hospital, who performed three surgeries including two major operations on the minister’s spouse, during the lockdown triggered by the threat of the ongoing global Covid-19 pandemic, in 2020.

Highlighting that the minister also underwent a surgery for a dislocated and fractured wrist at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), Mariya praised the local orthopaedic surgeons there, for doing a “fantastic” job

Following the minister’s Tweet, the Maldivian Orthopaedic Association expressed gratitude via a Twitter post.
