A fire broke out in Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, situated in Emboodhu Finolhu in South Male' atoll.
Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said that the fire was reported at around 8:30pm on Tuesday. The fire was controlled by the time MNDF firefighters reached the island, by the resort's fire team.
MNDF further revealed that the fire had broke out in the resort's powerhouse, which led to an island-wide power outage as well.
No injuries were reported.
