With over 12,000 Covid-19 patients having recovered thus far, Maldives’ recovery rate is at 95.39 percent.

While the island nation has confirmed 13,402 coronavirus infections since March, a total of 12,784 recoveries were recorded by Wednesday. There have been 48 deaths from the virus.

This means that the country’s recovery rate has reached 95.39 percent while mortality rate is at 0.36 percent.

There are currently 561 active cases in the archipelago nation.

The country went into a lockdown following the detection of a Covid-19 community spread in the heavily congested capital Male’ City in April. While lockdown easing began at the end of May, there was a second surge in cases as the country entered the third phase of the ease plan in mid-July.

However, there has been a decrease in cases since September. As such, the country reported its lowest daily rise in infections in past few days; 11 cases on Monday, 12 new cases on Tuesday and 10 cases on Wednesday.
