Maldives has extended felicitations to Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah following his reappointment as the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait

In a congratulatory message to Sheikh Sabah, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih offered best wishes for his success and good health.

The president expressed faith that the people of Kuwait will continue to progress and flourish under Sheikh Sabah’s “exceptional leadership”.

Solih also expressed his keen interest to continue working with Sheikh Sabah, who was reappointed the Prime Minister of Kuwait earlier this week, in order to enhance and strengthen the brotherly ties between Maldives and Kuwait.

The message goes on to read that Maldives will “always remain” appreciative of the Kuwaiti government’s continued socio-economic assistance towards the island nation.

The assistance provided by the government of Kuwait have greatly improved the lives of Maldivian citizens, the president’s message reads.

Before being endorsed to the position of Prime Minister in late 2019, served as the country’s foreign minister, since 2011.
