Auditor General and President of the Council of Chartered Accountants of Maldives, Hassan Ziyath has expressed high hope for the development of the accounting profession in the Maldives.

The Auditor General made this remark during his address to the public in commemoration of the International Accountants Day, celebrated annually on November 10.

As such, Ziyath noted that the hopes for developing accounting profession in Maldives is high, due to the recent establishments of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Maldives (CA Maldives) with a promise of developing the institute strong enough to achieve national and international repute.

In commemoration of the day, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Maldives organized a career guidance session on Tuesday, aimed at students of higher secondary education and was delivered by “highly experience” local professionals.

The session was opened to students of higher secondary education across the entire Maldives.

The role of accounting in the industry as well as the existing opportunities to pursue a career in the accounting profession, were highlighted during the session.

Further, a webinar titled “Future Ready Accountants”, was also hosted on Tuesday night via Facebook live. An esteemed team of panel members joined the webinar.

Discussions during the webinar brought together ideas and perspectives from different areas of the accounting profession and address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The webinar is open for registration and will be made public via Facebook live.
