Litigants Firm has refuted the allegations made against First Lady Fazna Ahmed by local media outlet, ‘Maldives News Network’ (MNN), claiming that the publication needs to apologize to her.

The law firm expressed concern regarding the allegations made against the First Lady, refuting the accusations as false. MNN’s accusations against the First Lady are linked to the garden park developed near the Sinamalé Bridge in Maldives capital Malé City.

Refuting the allegations, Litigants noted that the local news outlet needs to apologize and amend their publication.

In a statement, Litigants stated that MNN’s publication violates the broadcasting code of practice mandated to be followed by broadcasters when bringing their content to the people, in turn soiling the First Lady’s dignity and integrity by publicizing falsified information.

Further, the news outlet is mandated to amend their publication and apologize if their content goes against the broadcasting act, under the broadcasting code of practice.
