Curfew hours in the capital Male' City have been reduced, from Saturday, as the Maldives continues to see a decrease in Covid-19 cases.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that curfew hours in Male', Hulhumale' and Villimale' have been adjusted to 12am to 4am; an hour less than the previous curfew time.
The Agency urged all to continue to abide by the Covid-19 safety measures. Those found in violation of Covid-19 safety rules face a fine.
The curfew in the capital region, initially from 10pm to 5am, was announced three months ago on August 4, following a second surge in Covid-19 cases. The island nation began seeing a gradual decrease in cases in September.
Authorities have brought changes to some other Covid-19 safety rules as well; including allowing public gatherings of up to 15 people; allowing the reopening of parks, museums and centers; allowing contact sports and outdoor sports activities.
Those traveling to outlying islands from the capital are still required to quarantine for a 14-day period.
