Discussions have been held regarding improving healthcare services for oncology patients.
During a meeting held at the President’s Office, the country’s Vice President Faisal Naseem was briefed on the Cancer Society’s ongoing activities and programs as well as future activities, by representatives from the association.
They also shared the biggest issues and challenges facing in the provision of healthcare services to oncology patients, during the meeting.
VP Naseem praised the Cancer Society of Maldives for their resilience in conducting awareness programmes across the Maldives regarding cancer and applauded their continuous efforts to provide support and assistance to oncology patients.
Further, the vice president shed light on the value of expediting medical services and treatment for oncology patients, having urged all relevant organizations present to work collaboratively to ease the issues facing the patients.
Senior officials from hospitals in the greater Malé region and relevant authorities, Ahmed Sameer, Minister at the President’s Office as well as Dr. Musthafa Luthfee, Special Advisor on Social Policy from the President’s Office joined the meeting.
