The Ministry of Higher Education has announced availability in the Pakistan Technical Assistance Program 2020/2021 scholarships to study the Disciplines of Medicine (MBBS) and Dentistry (BDS) in Pakistan.

An announcement by the ministry reads that four slots are available under the MBBS program and one in the Bachelor of Dentistry program.

The Pakistani government’s Ministry of Economic Affairs publicized the admission notice for the academic sessions 2020-2021 which reads that a limited number of slots are available in the MBBS and BDS for the students of Pakistan Origin having foreign nationality for the session 2020-2021.

Educational qualifications for applicants have also been specified in the announcement.

The general conditions for applicants include having valid evidence of foreign nationality, and having studied and passed 12th grade or equivalent exam physically. Further, applicants are required to have passed with 'C' grades in five subjects in the GCE O’Levels, with the inclusion of chemistry, biology, physics or mathematics.

Pakistan Technical Assistance will be finalizing the selection and applicants are required to bear all costs of the scholarship.

Under the scholarships, students will be required to pay between USD 150 – 200 for college and hostel fees with the exclusion of food arrangements.

According to the ministry, 14 universities in Pakistan will be hosting the scholarships including those in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Bhawalpur, Karachi, Nawabshah, Peshawar, Abbottabad and Jamsharo.

Applicationformsand details of documents required to be submitted have been made available for download through the ministry’s website.

The ministry will be choosing candidates for final selection, by allocating points for academic merit.

Applications will be accepted through the My Edu portal before 1:30pm, October 15.
