Discussions have been held regarding the revised policy priority list proposed by the President’s Office regarding the government’s Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for the next two years.

This was done during a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.

On August 25, the cabinet held discussions regarding the numerous challenges posed by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, to the implementation of the original SAP schedule for 2019-2023, and the government’s ability to adhere to it.

The office’s policy section recently proposed a revised priority list and schedule for the SAP in light of the challenges, on which the cabinet held discussions on Tuesday.

The revises SAP will allow the government to deliver key pledges to the Maldivian people within a realistic time frame that factors in the challenges of the virus.

During the meeting, cabinet ministers deliberated on the project and activities listed, in order to determine priorities in each sector.

The ministers gave assurance that their respective ministries will fully support and cooperate with the authorities in fulfilling these priorities, despite the hindrances facing the work due to the ongoing pandemic.
