Newly-appointed President of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Mohamed Nasih has been appointed as a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

His appointment to JSC was confirmed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Tuesday.

The appointment was made as Article 158 (g) of the Constitution, which outlines the composition of the JSC, and Article 3 (7) of the Judicial Service Commission Act (Act 10/2008), which mandates that the president of CSC should “automatically be conferred membership of the JSC”.

During a ceremony held at the President’s Office, the president presented Nasih with his letter of appointment and his oath was administered by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Ahmed Muthasim Adnan.

Nasih, who also served as the Secretary General of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission previously, has over 28 years of experience in the management field and has also studied Masters’ of Engineering.

On Sunday, the People’s Majlis approved Nasih’s appointment as the CSC President.

Other members currently remaining in the commission are Mohamed Farshath and Fathmath Shareef, all four members took oath of office on Thursday.

Fathmath Amira is also a member of CSC, the commission consists of five members.
