Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has requested the Prosecutor General’s Office to review the corruption case against the head of the presidential inquiry commission on corruption and asset recovery, Ahmed Assad.
ACC had previously investigated the actions that are to have taken place when Assad served as a state minister at the Ministry of Finance, during the tenure of former President Mohamed Nasheed.
While ACC had previously ruled that there was no corruption in the case, it has since requested the PG Office to re-review the case.
However, an official from the Office told RaajjeMV that the request was submitted against the criminal procedure act and said that they will be meeting with officials of the anti-corruption body to discuss the matter.
